  1. have one Route 5 bus and give the other route another number — 2 people
  2. allow people to deboard at any time through the backdoor — 2 people
  3. have a better communication system when buses don't go where they should — 2 people
  4. nOT put electric trolley buses into neighborhoods that have underground wiring! Doh! No sooner did we pay a fortune to bury our wires and get rid of the telephone poles, than Metro roared in and put up new poles and wires for their trolleys. How stupid — 1 person
  5. not have buses change route numbers, but make that whole route a number itself — 1 person

King County Metro should run the 194 on Sunday night

There are two buses that go between downtown Seattle and Seatac airport—194 (aka the fast one) and 174 (aka the slow one). The 194 doesn’t run on Sunday, so when I fly back home on Sunday (which I seem to do often) I get stuck on the slow one.

I get a nice leisurely tour of the dive bars, motels, and hole in the wall ethnic restaurants on 99 S of Seattle though.

King County Metro should allow people to deboard at any time through the backdoor

I’d go further: they should always use one door for entry/paying and the other for an exit to speed up boarding and deboarding.

King County Metro should have one Route 5 bus and give the other route another number

It doesn’t make much sense to me why 2 different bus routes have the same number. I am of course talking about the number 5. There’s #5 Northgate and #5 to Shoreline. When I was new to the city and had a job in Greenwood, I’d always end up getting to work 5 minutes late. So I decieded to take an earlier bus. You can imagine my shock had horror when I realized this bus was taking me to a different location. Instead of getting to work early I was 2 hours late.

Since I was new to the area, it took me awhile to a) figure out where I was, and b) figure out how to get to were I wanted to be. In the end I got back on another 5; then got off on 103rd and walked to 134th Street because I was to scared to get on another bus.

Why on earth do they have the same number if they aren’t the same route?

King County Metro should have a better communication system when buses don't go where they should

I couldn’t agree more. They don’t put up the rerouted signs until around 6:30am. By that time I’ve been standing out there for a half hour and am just beginning to realized I am going to be very late for work, if I don’t get a cab fast.
